I'm sorry, but this movie is a waste of time. Kubrick was a brilliant filmmaker, but even he can make a stinker. Well, here it is. There is no sense of pacing, no character development, and the acting is just AWFUL! Shall I explain? Well, for a movie that is as long as it is, is sure goes nowhere fast. Talk about a snail's pace. Jack Torrance was supposed to slowly descend into madness due to the effects of alcohol and the spirits that surrounded him. In this movie, he is normal one second, and out of his mind the next. The acting. First the kid. Whenever he did speak it was like he was reading right off the page. Oh, and talking to his finger? That has to be one of the most unintentionally hilarious things in any movie of the last 20 years. Give me a break. Shelly Duvall just sleepwalked through this movie. Could her voice be just a little more annoying? Nicholson. He was being Jack Nicholson when he was supposed to be Jack Torrance. I don't know which performance was hammier, this or the Joker. It's as if he knew how stiff everyone else in the movie was, and he had to make up for it by going WAY over the top. Laughable and not scary. Now to its credit, the movie does have some scary visuals. The stedicam work created a very creepy feel, and some the exterior shots of the snowbound hotel were very eerie. The whole maze scene was creepy for about 30 seconds and then got dull. The tv remake was not only more faithful to the book, but the acting was better. Yes it was! The actors remained faithful to the characters and the material. In just about every way, the remake was superior. This movie was NOT scary! I was 10 years old when I first saw it. I remember it vividly, because that night I also saw the scariest movie ever made, John Carpenter's Halloween. That movie scared the crap out of me. That is what a great horror film should be. The Shining, however, almost put me to sleep. Sorry Mr. Kubrick. Oh, and Mr. Nicholson? Switch to decaf.

Most unsettling parts for me is whenever it shows the blood spilling out the elevator/down the hallway. That and those bastard twins. This has the same energy as the Onision meltdown. Personally, I am so glad that had acknowledged that author Stephen King is definitely NOT a fan of the Stanley Kubrick film version of The Shining. But I am sure that NOT ALL people were fans of the film as well. I know that the moments in the 1980 film were scary, but they were not what Mr. King had envisioned in his novel. I also find it so sad that Kubrick NEVER apologized for having made the movie as a way of turning his back on Mr. King and presented an alternative horror film that suited only Kubrick.

Who else was here cus of the thumbnail :sweat_drops. I've always liked how Kubrick often used the same actors in different films. Joe Turkel (Lloyd the Bartender) was one of the WWI French soldiers executed by firing squad in Paths of Glory, and Phillip Stone (Grady) played Alex's father in A Clockwork Orange. Free download film the shining. One of my favorite scenes in the entire movie. We see the twins, we see Lloyd, we see the woman in Room 237. One by one we see someone that's not supposed to be at the Overlook, and then we see a whole ball taking place. While it's highly possible that people in the audience are shocked at the number of ghosts (or whatever they are) Jack just goes in like he's a part of it without any hesitation or shock, even the whole scene itself starts so naturally, with jazz music in the background and no frightening images. It completely contrasts the surprise that the audience should be getting out of this scene. I love it.

All i know is i would be creeped out in a huge place like that, just my small family there, oh hell no. Free download shining in the shade in sun song. Download Free The shining light. I'm so glad this film was in Flanagan's capable hands. The spirits are restless they are crying for someone's blood they want a murder to happen. They will not be satisfied until someone is killed.

Ray Noble's Orchestra, Al Bowlly-Midnight The Starts and You. Just watched it today, and damn this movie is overrated! The Acting is at times is horrendous and it's not even scary at all. Damn nostalgia is cunning baffling and insidious... I watched this 100+ times as a child. Watching it as an adult makes me realize how great this movie was. Times were so different 40 years ago.

My favorite movie. Such a great film. REAL horror. gives me such a nostalgic feeling. wish i was around back when it came out. 10/10. Download free the shining movie. 0:40 COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THIS TOO many horror movies nowadays use jump scares and it's boring. That's why I love The Shining because it doesn't use any, but uses it's own natural way of scaring people.
